Becoming a Digital Marketing Master: My Experience Taking the DMM Certification Course

Hailey-Lynn Agawa • Feb 05, 2021

Hello! My name is Hailey. I’m the new copywriter and Digital Marketing Assistant at Jeronamo Solutions! I’ve been given the opportunity to take this amazing course as part of my professional training, and I’ve decided to take you with me on my 9-week journey. I welcome you to join me on my personal adventure of becoming a Digital Marketing Master so that you can get a firsthand peek into how much this Certification Program can do for you.

Does the thought of trying to navigate the ever-changing world of digital marketing alone give you a headache? You’re not alone. Digital marketing can be really intimidating, especially with the tech world expanding every day.

Despite its challenges though, digital marketing is now essential for business success in today’s world.

Trying to navigate the ever-growing world of digital marketing alone can be a nightmare. It’s not exactly something they teach you in school. The Digital Marketing Mastery course breaks down this world for you and teaches you everything you need to know at a comfortable pace. Our first week covered core concepts of digital marketing. This included

  • An introduction to digital marketing for small businesses
  • Learning how to understand your customers on a deeper level
  • Taking you through the Customer Value Journey (CVJ)

Week one started off with learning some basics. We went over what digital marketing is, digital vs traditional marketing, and what going digital can do for a small business. (Spoiler alert: Make you a lot of money!)

In my opinion, this was a perfect introduction to digital marketing in general and leaves me feeling confident to face more complicated lessons.

Two of the largest focuses of this week were about understanding your customers and the Customer Value Journey (see my CVJ homework worksheet below!). We were taught how to determine who your target customer base is and exactly how to target their specific needs. If you know your customer, you know what to sell them and how to do it.

We also learned how to guide a prospective customer through the Customer Value Journey, and how to take them from knowing nothing about your business to being loyal customers that will sing praises about your products or services. Not only will people keep buying your products or services, but they’ll want to convince other people too!

Understanding our customers and learning what drives them is absolutely paramount in building effective customer relationships. Obtaining a comprehensive understanding of what drives your customers is key to being able to create a CVJ for them. If your customers are not being guided through the Customer Value Journey, it can be difficult to maintain that customer relationship.

One week into the course and I already feel as though I have a great grasp on the core concepts of digital marketing. I’ve been given fantastic resources and tools that make these tasks simple, straightforward, and perfect for small businesses. It is already extremely clear to me how valuable this course is to business owners and marketing professionals.

So far we have covered core concepts, understanding target customer bases, and the customer value journey. Next week we’ll be learning about social media marketing and content funnels. I look forward to continuing to develop my professional skills and being able to share what this course can do for you!

One of the most effective ways to manage all the tasks it takes to complete a project, including who needs to do what and by when, is by using a project management software. It is honestly worth the time and investment now to make task and project management easier going forward. Here’s (almost) everything you need to know to get started choosing the right project management software for your team.

The Customer Value Journey is the basis of all marketing strategies. Here’s a breakdown of exactly what the 8-Stage Customer Value Journey is and why it’s so important that your business have one.
